Bio

Welcome back to A. W. Brown Leadership Academies' Genesis Campus. My name is Marshall (LaTreal) Myers and I'm ecstatic to start my second year at AWBLA! This year, I will humbly serve as Genesis K-5's 5th-grade English, Language Arts, Reading and Social Studies instructor.

I am excited to have a second year with our scholars. I will strive to challenge each scholar to grow in his or her academic abilities and to be college and career ready. I will utilize research-based best practices and analyze academic data to determine current skill levels and set goals for growth and improvement. I believe all scholars should graduate prepared for the demands of postsecondary education, meaningful careers, and effective citizenship.

I am looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children achieve their highest potential. I recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both home and school. I know that I will do my very best to carry out my responsibilities. I ask that you guide and support your child's learning by ensuring that he/she:

  • attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day's experience
  • completes all homework assignments given by teachers
  • reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
  • shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
  • informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
  • knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go on to college, to the armed forces, and/or workforce.

Again, I am honored to serve the scholars of AWBLA. It is truly a privilege to be part of an influential community that strives to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth.

Educationally yours,

Marshall Myers
